Our Cockburn branch is located inside the Cockburn Health & Community centre, providing a wide range of services including General X‑Ray, OPG, CT, Ultrasound, MRI and our newly added Bone Densitometry scanner, to a loyal referrer base.
About the role
As a Medical Imaging Assistant, you will be responsible for patient care prior to, during and after the scan. The majority of your work will be clinical in nature including some administrative duties. The position is Full Time – 75 hours per fortnight Monday to Friday. You will be required to participate in weekend rosters.
You will be expected to help out across modalities within the branch including MRI and CT, as well as running your own list of Bone Densitometry patients. Some of your many and varied duties will include:
* Confirming patient appointments & any pre‑appointment instructions via telephone
* Retrieving outside imaging studies
* Preparing patients for procedures and assisting with the positioning of patients during procedures
* Assisting the technical staff member during clinical procedures, including cannulating patients (training provided)
* Stock control
* Cleaning and housekeeping duties
* Administrative duties as required
As part of this role includes being trained in Bone Densitometry, a tertiary qualification in a health/science background is required.
