Project Engineering Manager – BAE Systems Australia

About the Opportunity
The Project Engineering Manager (PEM) sets the overall technical objectives of projects, coordinates all engineering activities, and ensures rigorous technical reviews before delivery. This role is based in either South Australia – Adelaide or Victoria – Melbourne .
Key Responsibilities
* Be accountable for the overall engineering effort within the assigned project scope.
* Ensure that engineering outputs are fit for purpose, meet requirements, and align with company product safety policy.
* Identify and contribute process improvements and recommendations.
* Provide engineering oversight, support, and governance to capability team members.
* Support the Project Manager with planning, scheduling, and decision‑making.
* Liaise with HFS capability areas to ensure development and delivery of engineering solutions.
* Raise issues (capacity, capability, and quality) to the HFS Engineering Manager for resolution.
* Manage and report on applicable project technical metrics to the PM and relevant stakeholders.
Qualifications
* Bachelor's degree in engineering or equivalent; CPEng ideal or eligibility to obtain.
* Demonstrated experience working within a project environment, ideally in systems, integration, or hardware disciplines.
* Strong communication skills to work closely with internal and external stakeholders.
* Leadership experience within a diverse project team.
* Proactive, self‑motivated, and capable of managing competing priorities and changing schedules.
* NV1 Defence security clearance or eligibility to obtain.
* Eligibility to be cleared for International Traffic in Arms Regulations (ITAR).
