An exciting opportunity has arisen for a number of individuals to join our Grounds team and our Construcction Team as Full Time Labourers!

With over 500 acres of grounds, our dedicated Grounds and Construction departments at Australia Zoo are primarily responsible for the development, maintenance and construction of the grounds, dwellings and facilities.
To be successful in these roles, you will have a demonstrated ability to work in a high-performance environment, with a capacity to deliver all requirements of the role, great work ethic and the ability to work to a high standard within a team.
Grounds Attendant duties include, but are not limited to:
* Mowing and Whipper-snipper use, Watering and irrigation installation and mainteannce, Weeding, Pruning, Planting and General Gardening.
* Operation and general maintenance of machinery including vehicles, mowers, whipper-snippers and relevant hand tools.
* Assisting with nursery operations, including records and maintenance of stock levels.
* Tending to gardens and grounds throughout Australia Zoo in both Front of House and Back of House areas and along all access roads.
Construction Labourer duties include, but are not limited to:
* Providing labouring support to the Construction and Maintenance department, and the Trade Qualified team members (Welders, Carpenters, Electricians, Plumbers, Painters).
* Operation and general maintenance of machinery incluidng vehicles, power tools, and relevant hand rools.
* Assisting with Construction operations, inlcuding labouring tasks and cleaning of site areas.
* Preperation of work areas, tools, equiptment and construction sites where relevant.
Essential Critera:
* Availability to work weekends, public holidays, and school holiday periods.
* Hold current Manual Driver’s Licence.
* Q-fever Vaccination (or exemption) - Grounds Attendant only.
* White Card - Construction Labourer only.
