Youth Support Worker Opportunity
We are seeking a dedicated and passionate Youth Support Worker to join our team.
Job Description
The successful candidate will be responsible for providing day-to-day care in a safe and structured home-like environment. They will support young people in developing life skills, emotional regulation, and healthy relationships. This includes assisting with domestic tasks, health, education, and recreation. The Youth Support Worker will also implement Behavioural Support Plans and therapeutic practices in line with the Sanctuary Model.
Key Responsibilities
* Provide day-to-day care in a safe and structured home-like environment
* Support young people in developing life skills, emotional regulation, and healthy relationships
* Assist with domestic tasks, health, education, and recreation
* Implement Behavioural Support Plans and therapeutic practices in line with the Sanctuary Model
* Work within a team to uphold duty of care, confidentiality, and cultural sensitivity
* Maintain accurate records and daily logs via the AIMS system
* Promote connection with birth families, communities, and Aboriginal agencies to support cultural identity and wellbeing
Required Skills and Qualifications
The ideal candidate will have a Certificate III in Community Services, Youth Work or related field – or willingness to obtain (RPL may apply). They will also have experience working with children or young people, ideally in a residential or trauma-informed setting. Knowledge and understanding of Aboriginal communities and cultures in NSW is essential.
