An exciting opportunity is available for an enthusiastic, proactive, outcomes‐focused Human Resources Advisor to join the HR Operations team at Queensland Metals. Reporting to the HR Superintendent, this role offers the chance to work closely with operational leaders and employees, delivering high quality HR support while contributing to broader organisational objectives in a complex, operational environment.
The role is residentially based in Mount Isa, working a 5/2 4/3 roster. We encourage suitably qualified and experienced local candidates to apply. For those candidates located outside of Mount Isa, relocation support is available for this position to enable you and your family to live and work in Mount Isa.
Key Responsibilities
* Provide HR advice and support across employee relations, performance management, and legislative compliance.
* Assist with performance improvement plans and attendance management processes.
* Support workforce planning, roster planning, and establishment management activities.
* Contribute to recruitment support and organisational capability initiatives.
* Support remuneration, benefits, payroll processing, and injury management activities.
* Assist with the delivery and implementation of HR projects and continuous improvement initiatives.
* Support operational teams to deliver key business objectives through effective people practices.
* Partner with leaders to make data‐driven decisions.
About You – Skills and Experience
You are a capable HR generalist with strong interpersonal skills and a practical approach to supporting operational teams. You are comfortable working in a fast‐paced environment, applying sound judgement, and delivering consistent, professional advice.
* Tertiary qualification in Human Resources or a related discipline.
* 3–5 years of HR experience, ideally within the resources or heavy industry sector.
* Strong knowledge of HR policies, procedures, and employment legislation.
* Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
* Ability to influence, negotiate, and build effective relationships with stakeholders.
* Confidence acting as a trusted HR resource at all levels of the organisation.
