Operations Engineer Role
The Operations Engineer acts as a project manager for assigned projects, providing technical support for field operations and/or construction management, including bidding and evaluating vendor proposals.
Main Responsibilities:
* Collaborate with Operations, Contractors, and OEMs to develop work scopes and schedules for repairs, overhauls, inspections, and unit exchanges based on input from Operations and Reliability Specialists.
* Facilitate budget development, justification, and prioritization of O&M and Capital projects related to compression equipment.
* Manage projects related to repairs, overhauls, installations, and replacements of compression equipment.
* Maintain inventory levels and assemble parts for projects.
* Forecast and track project costs, providing monthly financial updates.
* Provide technical support for the operation and maintenance of natural gas compression and auxiliary equipment.
* Support and monitor the Preventative Maintenance Program.
* Conduct Root Cause Failure Analysis and implement improvements.
* Participate in mechanical and safety audits.
* Identify and implement best practices.
* Develop, train, and enforce mechanical and safety procedures.
* Work with vendors, OEMs, and contractors on service agreements and equipment issues.
* Represent the company with OEM representatives.
* Facilitate training, meetings, and presentations on compression topics.
* Conduct inventory audits annually.
Requirements:
Education and Experience
* Bachelor's degree in Engineering; Mechanical preferred.
* At least 6 years of relevant experience.
* Knowledge of project development, execution, and management.
* Thorough understanding of engines, compressors, and auxiliary equipment maintenance.
* Strong analytical, communication, and human relations skills.
* Knowledge of safety standards, regulations, and company procedures.
Special Characteristics
* Self-starter with minimal supervision ability.
* Organized with good prioritization skills.
* Ability to handle multiple projects and work extended hours during peak times.
* Ability to work in hazardous environments and maintain safety standards.
* Willingness to travel approximately 25% within the area.
