Job Title: Economic Strategist
Join our Commercial team as we shape the future of Melton City Council. This is a brand-new role created to support our growing community and evolving strategic priorities.
About the Role
* As an Economic Strategist, you will provide expert economic and revenue analysis to support Council policy, strategy, and investment decisions.
* Develop and maintain financial and economic models, including forecasts and trend analysis.
* Advise on economic reform opportunities, strategic revenue initiatives, and commercial investment projects.
* Support strategic internal reviews, and stakeholder engagement to drive improved outcomes for Council.
Key Responsibilities
As a key member of our Commercial team, you will:
* Work closely with key business units across the organisation to deliver high-quality services and infrastructure.
* Contribute to the development of innovative solutions to complex problems.
* Engage with stakeholders to drive improved outcomes for Council.
* Collaborate with colleagues to achieve organisational goals.
Requirements
* A tertiary qualification in economics or finance, accompanied by several years' experience or lesser formal qualifications with extensive relevant experience.
* Formal training or certification in economic modelling, forecasting, or financial analysis is highly regarded.
* Demonstrated analytical and investigative skills to enable the formulation of policy options within a broad organisation-wide framework.
* A sound understanding of the long-term goals of the wider organisation and the legal and political context of which Council operates within.
