Purpose
TheStrategic Partnerships & Philanthropy Leadis responsible for delivering significant revenue growth for Breast Cancer Care WA through high-value partnerships and philanthropic relationships.
This role is a senior relationship-led fundraiser, combining strategic business development capability with high-net-worth and corporate engagement expertise, to identify, cultivate, solicit, steward and grow long-term supporters.
Working closely with the General Manager Fundraising and Marketing, the role is accountable for building a strong, active pipeline and securing large gifts and multi-year partnerships aligned to BCCWA's mission, services, and strategic priorities.
Key Responsibilities
Strategy, Planning & Growth
* Develop and implement strategic plans that grow BCCWA's major gifts and corporate partnerships portfolio, with clear acquisition and retention goals.
* Build and manage a high-performing pipeline of new prospects across corporate partners and high-net-worth individuals
* Work to income targets within agreed parameters, exceeding budgeted revenue and contributing to long-term financial sustainability.
* Track performance, forecast pipeline revenue, and report financial outcomes and engagement activity to internal stakeholders.
* Support continuous improvement of ethical fundraising practices, supporter experience and relationship management processes.
* Work collaboratively with Fundraising, Marketing and Operations teams to ensure partner/donor obligations are delivered on time, to budget and at a high standard.
* Support the development of high-quality fundraising communications such as proposals, pitch documents, impact reports and tailored supporter content.
High-Net-Worth Relationships
* With a focus on new relationships, identify, qualify, cultivate and convert new major donors, including gifts $20,000+ and up to transformational contributions.
* Create and execute tailored donor engagement and solicitation strategies, ensuring strong stewardship and long-term retention.
* Work with the GM Fundraising and Marketing to craft compelling cases for support, personalised proposals, and confident "asks."
* Design and deliver exceptional donor journeys, ensuring donors feel valued, inspired and connected to the impact of their giving.
* Arrange donor engagement opportunities (events, briefings, cultivation meetings, site visits, service/program updates) to deepen relationships and accelerate commitment.
Corporate Partner Acquisition and Growth
* Proactively identify, qualify and pursue new high-value corporate partnerships, aligned to BCCWA's mission and funding priorities, with a strong focus on generating significant new revenue streams.
* Develop and execute high-impact prospecting strategies to engage senior decision-makers, build trust quickly, and progress opportunities from first contact through to proposal, negotiation and secured commitment.
* Leverage your existing networks and business development capability to unlock new corporate relationships, sponsorships and multi-year partnerships that materially grow the corporate portfolio.
* Create tailored pitches, proposals and partnership cases for support that clearly articulate mutual value, impact and outcomes, and inspire investment at a major level.
* Establish and maintain a robust new business pipeline, including clear activity targets, forecasting, and reporting on conversion progress and revenue projections.
* Ensure partnership onboarding and early-stage stewardship is supporter-centric and delivered to a high standard, enabling strong foundations for renewal and long-term growth.
* Work internally with BCCWA staff to coordinate the timely delivery of partnership obligations and recognition requirements, ensuring partners feel valued and confident in their decision to support BCCWA.
CRM, Reporting & Compliance
* Ensure accurate and up-to-date recording of all stakeholder details and relationship activity in BCCWA's CRM (Salesforce).
* Maintain accurate reporting against pipeline, income, budget performance, engagement activity and key success indicators.
* Handle confidential information sensitively and professionally, ensuring compliance with relevant policies and ethical fundraising practice.
Key Success Indicators
* Achievement of budgeted income targets across major donors and corporate partnerships.
* Evidence of a strong and growing pipeline of high-value prospects and multi-year opportunities.
* Increased acquisition and conversion of new high-net-worth donors and corporate partners through strategic relationship development.
* Strong retention, renewal and upgrade outcomes across existing major donor and corporate portfolios.
* High-quality stewardship and supporter experience, demonstrated through timely delivery of obligations, reporting and impact outcomes.
* Accurate CRM management and disciplined reporting practices supporting future growth.
Selection Criteria
Essential
* Demonstrated success securing and growing revenue through business development, partnerships, or high-value relationship fundraising.
* Strong experience building and managing a prospect pipeline and progressing opportunities from identification through to close.
* Proven ability to engage and influence senior stakeholders including corporate leaders, high-net-worth individuals, Board members and philanthropic decision makers.
* Existing network of senior corporate decision-makers and/or high-net-worth philanthropic prospects.
* Understanding of ESG and how to align partnership propositions with corporate purpose and impact objectives.
* Strong track record in strategic prospect research and converting cold prospects into high-value supporters
* Outstanding relationship-building and stewardship skills, with a donor-centred, high-trust approach.
* Excellent communication skills across proposals, pitching, negotiation, contracting, and reporting.
* Strong planning, organisation and time management skills, with the ability to manage competing priorities and deliver outcomes.
* Budget management and financial reporting capability, with confidence sharing performance outcomes with leadership.
* Confidence using CRM systems (Salesforce preferred), with strong attention to detail and process discipline.
Desirable
* Experience delivering tailored engagement events or experiences designed to cultivate major supporters.
* Experience working with Board members / senior leaders to cultivate and solicit major donors and partners (including joint meetings and asks)
* Ability to develop high-impact partnership propositions aligned to organisational priorities (e.g., service funding, survivorship, statewide access, equity) and corporate ESG objectives.
* Experience negotiating complex partnership agreements including deliverables, recognition, reporting, and sponsorship assets.
* Demonstrated ability to manage a high-volume pipeline with discipline, using CRM insights to forecast and prioritise effort (Salesforce highly regarded).
* Knowledge of current/emerging fundraising and philanthropy trends, particularly within the health / community services sector.
