Manufacturing Manager - Brendale

About The Role
You'll take ownership of the end‐to‐end manufacturing operation — safety, output, quality, cost, and people. This site leadership role requires presence on the floor, working closely with Supervisors, Maintenance, Engineering, and Operations to keep the plant running safely, efficiently, and consistently.
You'll drive reliability and performance through Lean, WCM, and continuous improvement while maintaining control of budgets, costs, and compliance. This is a hands‐on role with real accountability – leading your team, lifting standards, and shaping site performance.
Key Responsibilities
* Lead a Zero Harm culture, driving a strong "Never Walk Past" safety mindset
* Deliver performance across safety, quality, service, delivery, and cost
* Drive and embed World Class Manufacturing (WCM) and Lean practices (including 5S)
* Lead, coach, and develop a team of Supervisors and operators
* Maintain strong team engagement and communication across shifts
* Own site planning, labour utilisation, and cost control (including ~30M operating budget)
* Partner closely with Maintenance to improve equipment reliability and uptime
* Build capability and succession across the production team
About You
* Proven leadership in a 24/7 manufacturing environment (ideally heavy industry)
* Strong grounding in Lean / Continuous Improvement / WCM
* Experience leading large, shift‐based teams through Supervisors
* A track record of improving safety, output, and operational performance
* Confidence managing industrial relations and union environments
* Solid commercial acumen, including budgets and cost control
* Strong working knowledge of SAP
* The ability to coach, challenge, and build capability across your team
Engineering or technical qualifications are helpful, but not essential — experience and leadership carry more weight here.
