The Flying Fruit Fly Circus is Australia's National Youth Circus and the country's only full-time circus school for young people aged 8–19. Based in Albury-Wodonga on Wiradjuri Country, and with a professional training and making space in Melbourne on Wurundjeri Country, we blend elite circus training with rigorous academic education. We're not just performers – we're trailblazers shaping the global circus landscape.
We're on the lookout for a brilliant Bookkeeper to swing into action with us at the Flying Fruit Fly Circus. Based in Albury, this is your chance to join one of Australia's most extraordinary arts organisations – and bring your spark to something seriously special.
Responsibilities
Keep our financial records in impeccable shape so the team and Board can make confident, timely decisions.
Make sure every dollar from tickets, classes, venue hire, donations, and merchandise lands in the right place and reconciles beautifully.
Be an important part of a small finance team, helping it run like clockwork by delivering accurate, on-time reconciliations that underpin month-end reporting and audits.
Ensure suppliers, staff and artists are paid correctly and on time, so our creative work never skips a beat.
Support strong financial controls and compliance so we meet our obligations to the ATO, ACNC, funders and partners.
Play a key role in embedding Xero and our finance processes as we bring our operations fully in-house.
Qualifications
Solid bookkeeping experience and confidence working in Xero in a small to medium organisation.
A sharp eye for detail and a love of tidy ledgers, clean reconciliations and getting things right the first time.
Comfort juggling multiple income streams and systems – from ticketing and enrolments to donations and hires – and making the numbers line up.
A collaborative, low-ego working style and the ability to build warm, professional relationships with colleagues, suppliers and auditors.
