Auto Electrician Role Overview
We are seeking an experienced Auto Electrician to join our team. As an essential member, you will be responsible for the repair and maintenance of our bus fleet.
About the Job
The successful candidate will have a strong background in electrical work and experience with complex control systems. They will also have excellent diagnostic skills and be able to troubleshoot faults in electrical and computer-controlled systems.
The role will involve regular travel between depots, with the base depot located at Port Botany. You will work a 2-week rotating roster, including early morning shifts, afternoon shifts, and overtime opportunities.
Key Responsibilities
* Perform operations on machinery or equipment that utilizes complex electrical/electronic circuitry controls.
* Work on complex control systems that involve combinations of electrical, electronic, mechanical, or fluid power principles.
* Diagnose faults in electrical and computer-controlled systems, communications, vehicle monitoring/tracking, CCTV, and other similar vehicle equipment.
* Operate a range of equipment and tools to undertake vehicle maintenance, such as diagnostic computers/tools, multimeters, load testing, lifting, and materials handling equipment.
Requirements
* A current NSW MVTC Auto Electrician trade certificate is an essential requirement.
* A current HR licence (or current C class licence and the ability to obtain an HR licence) is required.
* Computer literacy with the ability to record accurate maintenance information.
* Experience with scan tools is essential.
* Experience in bus maintenance and public transport operations is desirable.
