Purchasing Officer
AMA Medical Products is a leading supplier and distributor of medical products. We are seeking a proactive and detail-oriented Purchasing Officer to join our dynamic team. In this role, you will ensure timely and accurate purchasing of goods and services, maintain strong supplier relationships, and support our commitment to service excellence.
Responsibilities
* Processing purchase orders and receipting inbound goods and/or services.
* Maintaining accurate records and documentation; attention to detail a must.
* Managing direct shipments from manufacturer/supplier to customer.
* Promoting customer service excellence.
* Assisting the customer service team with enquiries.
* Managing backorder to minimise clinical risks to customers and financial risk to the business.
* Managing product returns, order discrepancies and TGA recalls.
* Compliance with WH&S policies and guidelines, risk management and performance improvement.
* Other duties as directed by the Procurement Manager.
Required Qualifications
* Year 10 education.
* Minimum two years' experience in a purchasing role.
* Computer literacy and knowledge of ERP systems (experience with Microsoft Dynamics 365 an advantage).
Desirable Qualifications
* Minimum Certificate III Transport and Distribution (Warehousing & Storage).
* Proven Materials Management experience, preferably within the medical industry.
* Experience in a computerised inventory management system.
* Knowledge of medical products and equipment preferred.

* Demonstrated customer focus and ability to build relationships with key stakeholders within the business.
* Excellent time management skills, ability to prioritise work effectively and use initiative.
* Good verbal and written communication skills.
* Passionate about improving process efficiency.
* Highly developed interpersonal skills.
* Attention to detail including accurate data entry.
* Sound understanding of inventory management systems.
* Strong IT literacy, in particular ERP software and Microsoft Office.
* Ability to identify and rectify supplier concerns proactively in a timely manner.
