Resolve Recruit is partnering with a leading Commonwealth government department to find a highly skilled Satellite Communications Engineer.
Our client is at the forefront of Australia's international engagement, supporting diplomatic missions worldwide through world-class satellite technology platforms and communications capabilities. This role offers the chance to contribute to critical communications infrastructure that supports Australia's foreign policy objectives and international operations. You will play a pivotal role in modernising satellite communications systems, migrating from legacy Geostationary Orbit (GEO) technologies to cutting-edge Non-Geostationary Orbit (NGSO) platforms.
Key Responsibilities:
* Integration of high performance, low-maintenance satellite terminals
* Deployment of NGSO capabilities to pilot sites
* Maintenance of high-risk GEO locations.
Key Experience and Skills:
* Demonstrated experience (5+ years) in satellite communications engineering, including GEO and NGSO systems.
* Strong understanding of RF and microwave communication systems, including design, testing, and optimisation.
* Demonstrated experience in planning and implementing high-availability WAN services, including satellite-based connectivity solutions that ensure reliable and resilient communications across geographically dispersed locations.
* Ability to produce high-quality technical documentation, including high-level designs and maintenance plans.
* Excellent communication and collaboration skills, with experience working in cross-functional and geographically distributed teams.
* Willingness and ability to travel regularly to geographically dispersed posts and remote locations as required for system deployment, maintenance, and support activities.
