Overview
A leading operator in the Logistics & Transportation sector providing freight, distribution and point-to-point delivery services across metropolitan and regional Australia. We support time-critical supply chains and B2B distribution networks, prioritising safety, compliance and on-time performance.
Responsibilities
* Operate heavy vehicles on assigned regional and metropolitan routes, ensuring safe, compliant and punctual deliveries.
* Perform thorough pre-trip and post-trip vehicle inspections and complete required vehicle defect reports.
* Secure, load and unload freight using correct load restraint techniques and required manual handling practices.
* Maintain accurate logbooks and electronic records (ELD/tachograph), submit delivery paperwork and reconcile manifests.
* Adhere to Chain of Responsibility and WHS procedures, reporting incidents, hazards and near-misses promptly.
* Engage professionally with customers at delivery sites, managing paperwork and minor on-site problem resolution.
Qualifications
Must-Have
* Current relevant Australian heavy vehicle driving licence (class applicable to route) and eligibility to work in Australia.
* Proven ability to operate heavy vehicles safely with experience in long-haul, regional or urban delivery operations.
* Current National Police Check or willingness to obtain and up-to-date driver medical/fitness for work clearance.
* Competence with ELD/tachograph operation and GPS navigation for route optimisation.
Preferred
* Experience with B-double, road train or specialised heavy combinations and tail-lift deliveries.
* Forklift licence, basic mechanical troubleshooting skills or prior experience in freight handling environments.
