The Role
We're hiring a Senior Legal Counsel to join our high-growth team at Bridgit. In this broad in-house role, you'll provide legal advice across corporate law, M&A, governance, regulatory compliance, and commercial contracts. You'll collaborate with cross-functional teams, support strategic projects, and help shape scalable legal frameworks for our growing business.
What You'll Do
* Provide legal advice across corporate law, M&A, governance, and regulatory compliance.
* Draft and negotiate a range of commercial contracts, including partnerships and vendor agreements.
* Support capital raising activities and advise on board and shareholder matters.
* Ensure compliance with financial services regulations and engage with regulators as needed.
* Advise on IP, privacy, and technology-related legal issues.
* Collaborate with internal teams on legal aspects of projects and mitigate legal risk.
What we're looking for
* Admission to practice law in Australia with a current practicing certificate.
* 10+ years of post-admission experience in corporate law, preferably with exposure to M&A, finance, and technology sectors.
* Strong understanding of corporate governance, regulatory compliance, and risk management.
* Excellent negotiation, drafting, and communication skills.
* Ability to work independently and collaboratively in a fast-paced environment.
* A commercial and solutions-oriented mindset, with a willingness to embrace new challenges, think creatively, and help reinvent traditional legal and business approaches.
* Desirable - Experience in the finance or lending sector, along with exposure to employment law and workplace matters.
