Our client are a well-established and growing steel manufacturing company based in Dandenong, seeking an experienced and driven Logistics Co-Ordinator to lead our transport and dispatch operations. This is a hands-on leadership role suited to someone who thrives in a fast-paced operational environment and understands the importance of balancing customer service, operational efficiency, and cost control. About the Role Reporting to senior management, you will be responsible for overseeing fleet operations, dispatch scheduling, transport efficiency, contractor management, and customer delivery performance. You will play a key role in ensuring our transport operations run safely, efficiently, and cost-effectively while maintaining exceptional service standards for our customers. Key Responsibilities Manage daily transport and dispatch operations Coordinate fleet scheduling, routing, and vehicle utilisation Monitor yard efficiency and minimise downtime Manage drivers and transport contractors Review operational reports and implement improvements Negotiate with carriers and suppliers Identify cost-effective transport solutions Ensure Load Restraint and safety compliance Work closely with operations, sales, and management teams Maintain strong customer service standards Drive operational efficiency and cost reduction initiatives To be successful in this role, you will have: Previous experience in a Transport, Fleet Management, or Logistics Operations role within manufacturing, steel, logistics, or heavy industry Proven experience managing fleets of 10 or more vehicles Strong understanding of scheduling, transport planning, and fleet utilisation Experience managing contractors and transport providers Strong analytical and reporting skills with the ability to drive outcomes High attention to detail and strong organisational skills Excellent communication skills across all levels of the business If you are a motivated transport professional looking to take the next step in your career with a respected steel manufacturing company, we would love to hear from you.
