About the Opportunity

As a Senior Exercise Physiologist (Level 3), you will work autonomously with minimal direct supervision while collaborating closely with inpatient mental health teams, consumers, and their support networks. You will deliver high-quality, evidence-based exercise physiology services and lead innovative programs that support recovery and improved physical health outcomes for people experiencing mental illness.

* Work collaboratively with multidisciplinary teams, consumers, carers and families to develop person-centred treatment plans that support recovery and physical health outcomes.
* Participate in multidisciplinary meetings, clinical handover, case conferences and discharge planning to support coordinated care.
* Provide clinical leadership, guidance and supervision to early career exercise physiologists and students.
* Lead or contribute to quality improvement initiatives, research activities and service development within the Mental Health service.
* Deliver in-service education to mental health staff and carers to enhance the integration of physical activity into consumer care.

About You

We are looking for an experienced and passionate Exercise Physiologist who brings strong clinical expertise, leadership capability, and a commitment to improving the physical health of mental health consumers. You will have:

* Demonstrated extensive clinical experience as an Exercise Physiologist, including work with consumers with complex health needs.
* Experience delivering assessment, exercise prescription, health education and behaviour change programs for adult mental health consumers.

* Experience contributing to quality improvement initiatives, evaluation processes and/or research that improves service delivery and clinical practice.
* Strong organisational, clinical reasoning and decision-making skills with the ability to work both independently and collaboratively within multidisciplinary teams.
* Excellent written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to engage and motivate consumers and adapt communication styles to suit diverse audiences.

Applicants must have current work rights in Australia or be a permanent resident or citizen. Unfortunately, we cannot consider applicants who do not meet this requirement.
