Senior Community Planning and Place Officer

In this role, you'll lead initiatives that enhance Mosman Park's public places, support local businesses, and strengthen community connections. Working collaboratively with internal teams, local groups, and stakeholders, you'll help shape the future of our town.
Responsibilities
* Leadership: Lead, mentor and manage the Community Planning and Place Officer.
* Place-Based Planning & Community Development – lead best practice community enrichment outcomes that are effective and innovative for the project.
* Advocacy: Advocate to external agencies for services to meet community identified requirements and build capacity to empower the community to advocate for their needs.
* Project Management & Reporting – develop key reporting measures and use of analytics to drive performance.
* Funding & Resource Management – Lead in collaboration with the Manager, the development and monitoring of the Community Planning and Place budget.
* Event Coordination – Plan, deliver and evaluate community engagement initiatives, forums and campaigns aligned with Council's strategic priorities.
Qualifications and Experience
* A qualification in community development, event management, urban planning, social sciences, or a related field (or equivalent experience).
* Experience engaging a diverse range of stakeholders on complex and high-profile issues.
* Strong project management skills with the ability to manage multi-faceted, strategic projects and the deadlines associated with these.
* Experience in community planning, placemaking, stakeholder engagement, or project management.
* Strong communication skills with a proven ability to connect with diverse stakeholders and facilitate effective collaboration.
* Excellent understanding of, and commitment to, community development practices and principles and community capacity building techniques.
* Flexibility to work outside business hours as required.
* Flexible work arrangements such as hybrid working from home, and a 9-day fortnight.
* Superannuation co-contribution (subject to individual contribution).
* 17.5% leave loading.
* Two extra days of leave each year (Local Government holiday).
