We now have an exciting new opportunity for a Development Associate, Sydney, Biomedical Accelerator Join a team who are seeking to transform innovative research, translation and commercialisation by fast-tracking scientific discovery into better health outcomes. Through developing relationships with the University of Sydney's alumni and donors you will raise philanthropic support for research, education and outreach endeavors. About The Sydney Biomedical Accelerator (SBA) The Sydney Biomedical Accelerator (SBA) is a visionary partnership between the University of Sydney, Sydney Local Health District and the NSW Government. By bringing together clinicians, researchers, academics, and industry partners, the SBA aims to address some of the world’s most complex health challenges through innovation, translation, and commercialisation of biomedical discoveries. About the Position As Development Associate you will play a role in securing philanthropic investment to accelerate medical discoveries and advancements. Drawing upon your relationship building and previous fundraising experience and supported by our skilled advancement team, you will cultivate and nurture impactful relationships with high-net-worth individuals, industry partners, family offices, trusts and foundations. You will further develop your skills to directly enable groundbreaking research and transformative health outcomes. Every successful conversation has the potential to fund life-changing medical research, and innovative clinical breakthroughs. About you The University values trust, accountability and excellence. As such, we see the importance of recruiting talent aligned to these values and are looking for Development Associate, Sydney Biomedical Accelerator who: is a natural relationship builder – you enjoy interacting with people one-on-one and fostering relationships with individuals at different levels and from diverse cultures; has excellent communication skills, both listening and written, enabling you to develop compelling proposals or cases for support that align with a prospective donor’s interests; possesses highly developed emotional intelligence, you are self-aware with exceptional interpersonal skills; an active listener with a proactive work ethic; is a high-achiever, naturally driven by success both professionally and personally; is confident in handling data with confidentiality and integrity; is passionate about biomedical, healthcare, or medical research sectors, and you can demonstrate this in a cover letter, along with explaining why you would be a strong candidate for this role.
