Ready to lead a payroll function that truly matters?

We're looking for a Payroll Team Leader who wants more than just running a pay cycle. This is your opportunity to take ownership of a complex, high volume payroll environment, lead a capable team and strengthen the systems, controls and governance that underpin it.

Supporting a workforce of 1,000+ employees, you'll sit at the centre of People & Culture and Finance, ensuring payroll runs seamlessly, compliance is nonnegotiable and processes continue to evolve.

If you enjoy combining technical depth with leadership accountability, this role gives you the space to do both.

In this role you'll:
* lead the full payroll operation, ensuring each fortnightly pay run is accurate, compliant and delivered with absolute confidence
* drive system optimisation within Aurion, leading upgrades, testing and process enhancements that improve efficiency and reduce manual risk
* provide steady leadership to two Payroll Officers, creating clarity around priorities while building capability and team cohesion
* partner with Finance and senior leaders to deliver reliable reporting, strong internal controls and audit‐ready governance frameworks
* interpret and apply enterprise agreements, awards and employment legislation with precision, offering practical advice that supports sound decision‐making

This role offers a salary range of $111,411 – $123,743 + 12% super, along with the added benefit of a monthly ADO - giving you both financial reward and additional flexibility.

To thrive in this role:
* Extensive payroll leadership experience within a complex, high volume environment, with strong knowledge of taxation, superannuation and statutory compliance and a clear sense of accountability for accuracy
* Confidence interpreting enterprise agreements, awards and employment legislation, applying them consistently and exercising sound judgement in complex scenarios
* Advanced payroll systems capability (Aurion highly regarded), with a solid understanding of data integrity, system controls and configuration
* A proactive approach to risk management and continuous improvement, regularly reviewing workflows and strengthening governance practices
* The ability to lead with clarity and professionalism, building trusted relationships while handling sensitive information with discretion
