Windaroo Valley State High is a co-educational State High School located in the northern end of the Gold Coast, Logan Albert Beaudesert Education District and a member of the South Coast sporting district. The community consists of both established residential areas and areas of rapid growth. The school was established in 1994 and currently has approximately 1250 students in Years

The Head of Department English is an active participant in the school leadership and curriculum teams. The successful applicant will significantly contribute to a school culture that is focussed on continuous improvement to maximise each student's performance and potential.
The successful applicant is required to work across a range of teams to monitor student performance, and support staff and students to improve learning outcomes in alignment with Education Queensland expectations.
Responsibilities Include
* Implementation of the English Curriculum Years 7-12 through quality pedagogy and teaching and learning practices
* Professionally support teachers, especially early career teachers, and contribute to positicve staff wellbeing
* Oversight of all QCAA requirements for English
* Leadership of whole school literacy initiatives and Corrective English program
* Contribute to the academic learning culture and implement programs and processes in English that support quality learning outcomes for all students
