The Role
This is a hands-on Project Manager position with full end-to-end ownership of multi-million-dollar design & construct projects focused on odour control systems, chemical dosing, biogas utilisation, and associated civil/mechanical works on wastewater treatment plants and pump stations.
You'll report directly to the General Manager – Major Projects and take single-point accountability for safety, schedule, budget, quality, and client outcomes from concept through construction, commissioning, and handover.
To be shortlisted you MUST clearly demonstrate ALL of the following:
* Tertiary qualification in Mechanical Engineering, Civil Engineering or equivalent
* 5–10+ years proven Project Management experience delivering design & construct water/wastewater infrastructure projects valued $5M–$50M+
* Recent proven delivery of odour control and/or biogas systems in Australia (essential)
* Practical civil and mechanical site delivery experience on WWTPs, rising mains or pump stations
* Advanced Primavera P6 skills – able to independently build, baseline, maintain and recover Level 3/4 schedules
* Strong commercial acumen (scope management, variations, EOTs, forecasting, procurement)
* Experience leading HAZOPs, CHAIR reviews, design reviews and commissioning
* Proven client-facing ability with water authorities, councils or Tier 1 contractors in QLD/NSW
* Current driver's licence and willingness to pass regular D&A screening
What you'll do
* Own full project planning, resourcing and scheduling in P6
* Lead design coordination, procurement, construction oversight and commissioning
* Act as primary client interface – proactive communication and relationship building
* Take full responsibility for budget, risk management, monthly reporting and close-out
* Champion site safety, quality standards and zero-rework delivery
