Ararat Abattoirs Pty Ltd is seeking a reliable, safety-focused Store Person to join our team in rural Victoria. This hands‑on role supports the daily operations of our factory store, ensuring the safe and efficient movement, storage, and supply of consumables, PPE, gas, and chemicals that keep our production facility running.
This position is ideal for someone who enjoys practical work, operating forklifts, and being part of a hardworking regional team.
This is a full time position working dayshift 6.00am - 4.00pm Monday to Thursday with the opportunity of overtime.
Key Responsibilities
* Managing goods inwards, consumables, and general store operations
* Safely loading and unloading trucks
* Operating forklifts in line with licensing and safety requirements
* Managing PPE supplies, factory consumables, and cost‑effective purchasing
* Receiving and safely storing chemicals
* Supporting movement of product and consumables across site
* Coordinating paper/cardboard recycling
* Ensuring drinking water distribution across the facility
* Completing required documentation, checklists, and records
* Maintaining a clean, safe, compliant work area at all times
About You
* A current forklift licence (or ability to obtain one)
* Strong computer literacy skills, including proficiency with Excel and experience using store or inventory management software
* Experience in stores, warehousing, or factory environments (preferred)
* Strong awareness of workplace health & safety requirements
* Ability to perform repetitive manual handling tasks (10kg+)
* Willingness to work in varied conditions including cold, hot, damp, and wet environments
* Good communication skills and the ability to work within a team
* Reliability, punctuality, and a positive attitude
Experience in the meat processing industry or a similar manual handling environment is an advantage but not essential.
