The Role
**This is a 12-Month Fixed Term Contact**
Key Accountabilities and main responsibilities
* Lead end‐to‐end contract development activities, including scoping, specification development, negotiation, approval and execution.
* Develop and manage commercial strategies supporting complex client and supplier arrangements.
* Ensure contractual positions balance commercial outcomes, financial sustainability, risk exposure and service delivery needs.
* Provide expert advice on contract structures, pricing models, incentives, penalties and performance frameworks. Support commercial decision‐making through scenario analysis and options assessments.
* Act as the primary lead for contractual negotiations with clients, suppliers and partners.
* Coordinate legal, finance, risk, operational and technical inputs during negotiations.
* Draft, review and finalise contract documentation to ensure clarity and alignment with agreed specifications.
* Manage negotiation risks, issues and concessions to resolution.
* Assess financial models, pricing structures and cost implications of contractual proposals.
* Evaluate commercial viability, long‐term financial risk and margin impact.
* Support business cases and approvals for new or amended contracts.
* Ensure contracts support accurate forecasting, revenue recognition and cost management.
* Ensure compliance with organisational policies, governance frameworks and delegated authorities. Identify and manage contractual, financial, operational and reputational risks.
* Maintain robust documentation, approvals and audit records throughout the contract lifecycle.
* Build strong relationships across delivery, legal, finance, procurement, technology and operations.
* Provide clear guidance and updates to executives and senior stakeholders.
* Facilitate workshops to resolve complex specification or negotiation issues.
* Support knowledge transfer and enhanced commercial capability within teams.
Experience & Personal Attributes
* 10+ years' experience in contract management, commercial management or procurement within complex, regulated environments.
* Proven success leading high‐value, complex contract negotiations.
* Strong capability in commercial structuring, financial analysis and contract risk management.
* Experience collaborating closely with legal and finance teams.
* Tertiary qualifications in Finance, Law, Commerce, Business or a related discipline (desirable).
* Strong strategic and commercial acumen with highly developed influencing and negotiation skills.
* Excellent analytical and problem‐solving abilities.
* Effective stakeholder engagement skills at senior levels.
* Demonstrated project and change management capability.
* Resilient, accountable and outcomes‐driven approach.
