About the Role
We are seeking an experienced Operations Supervisor to lead our driver team in Townsville. This is a hands-on leadership role responsible for ensuring safe, compliant, and efficient daily transport operations.
You will work closely with the Operations Manager and play a key role in supporting drivers, improving performance, and maintaining operational standards.
Roster
* Monday–Friday 12:30pm – 9:30pm (Supervisor 2)
* Alternate Saturday 7:00am to 4:00pm
Key Responsibilities
* Lead, support, and communicate with drivers throughout daily operations.
* Conduct regular check-ins to support driver wellbeing and performance.
* Monitor compliance with fatigue management and transport regulations.
* Oversee driver performance, attendance, and safety practices.
* Ensure accurate completion of pre-starts, timesheets, and system use (Logmaster, MT Data, FOUR)
* Manage operational calls and respond to issues in real time.
* Support and guide Leading Hands / Drivers
* Investigate incidents and near misses.
* Maintain daily compliance reporting and documentation.
* Identify and implement improvements to safety and efficiency.
* Escalate critical issues where required.
Skills & Experience
* Previous experience in a Transport / Logistics Supervisor or Leading Hand role
* Strong understanding of NHVR compliance and fatigue management
* Excellent communication and leadership skills
* Strong problem-solving ability and attention to detail
* Ability to work in a fast-paced, operational environment.
* Previous truck driving experience (highly regarded)
* Licences:
o HC Licence
o Forklift Licence
o CV (Crane) & DG (Doggers) Ticket
