About The Role
Sydney Local Health District has a long and proud history of delivering care in the community including prevention, early intervention, assessment, treatment, health maintenance and continuing care services designed to improve and support the health and wellbeing of individuals and communities. This position provides a centralised first point of contact, including telephone and face to face, information and referral service for Drug Health Services (DHS) in Sydney Local Health District.
Qualifications
* Must hold a tertiary degree in Social work or Counselling or Community Welfare or Occupational Therapy or Psychology that provides eligibility for full membership of the relevant professional association and/or with current registration with AHPRA to practice; Registered Nurse to have current registration with the Australian Health Practitioner Regulation Agency (AHPRA).
* Knowledge of drug and alcohol health issues in a primary health care, community or inpatient setting.
* Knowledge of and ability to liaise with appropriate referral agencies, including drug treatment, allied health; legal and welfare organisations and excellent customer service skills.
* Good communication and interpersonal skills and awareness of cross-cultural issues, with an ability to interact with people from a diverse range of sub-cultures and backgrounds and demonstrated ability to work independently and as part of a multidisciplinary team.
