Your new role
GM Financial Performance is a key strategic leadership role driving financial performance across QBE's Australian Pacific (AUSPAC) business. You will shape the financial narrative of the business, translating complex data into actionable insights for executive decision-making. This role requires a forward-thinking leader who understands insurance operations and can proactively contribute to financial strategy to ensure resilience and growth.
Reporting to the AUSPAC Chief Financial Officer, you will lead the FP&A function across AUSPAC; overseeing planning, forecasting, performance reporting, and strategic financial analysis. You'll be a key advisor to business line leaders and the CFO, driving financial strategy and supporting course correction across QBE's Australian operations.
Key accountabilities
* Provide strategic financial insights and challenge performance across business lines.
* Lead budgeting, forecasting, and scenario planning aligned to corporate objectives.
* Manage relationships with senior stakeholders including the Executive Team and Board.
* Drive process optimisation and continuous improvement across FP&A.
* Build and lead a high-performing team, fostering a culture of accountability and excellence.
About you
This is an opportunity for a seasoned finance professional from the general insurance industry, with experience in influencing at the executive level and leading through change and transformation. You will be able to connect the dots between strategy and performance and understand how the finance function can be a key enabler of innovation.
* Proven senior leadership experience in finance roles.
* Strong commercial acumen and demonstrable understanding of the insurance industry.
* Exceptional stakeholder engagement and communication skills.
* Ability to lead teams through change.
* Ideally possessing deep expertise in financial planning, reporting, and analysis.
