Join our dedicated team at SALHN and make a profound impact on the lives of veterans in need. As an Allied Health Assistant (AHA), you'll provide crucial support to the team of Allied Health Professionals (AHP), ensuring exceptional care for our patients.
About the role
- Supporting AHPs with facilitation of the Therapeutic Activity Program
- Supporting AHPs with administrative tasks which enhance the AHP program
- Safely delivering patient care as per AHP delegations, instructions and defined scope of practice
- Providing feedback and outcomes of tasks to delegating (or supervising) AHPs
- Assisting in the maintenance of clinical and patient equipment and associated records
- Accurately maintaining therapy related databases and patient documentation under the explicit direction of the supervising AHP
- Providing escort and support for patient attendance at therapy interventions
- Actively participating in own development, including education, training and supervision
About you
- Have a collaborative approach and the ability to work well with a multi-disciplinary team
- Sound communication and interpersonal skills – able to demonstrate the ability to work with people from a variety of cultural and linguistically diverse backgrounds
- Ability to work in a physically demanding environment to assist patient therapy and/or handling of patient related equipment and devices
- Experience working in a health‐care setting
