About the Role
As a Food Services Assistant, you will play an important role in supporting residents' wellbeing by assisting with food preparation, meal service, and maintaining a clean and safe kitchen and dining environment. You will work collaboratively with the catering and care teams to ensure meals are delivered in a timely, respectful, and resident-focused manner.
This is a casual position, offering flexibility across a rotating roster.
Key Duties
* Assist with basic food preparation and meal plating
* Deliver meals and beverages to residents in line with dietary requirements
* Assist residents during mealtimes where required
* Maintain cleanliness of kitchen, dining, and service areas
* Wash dishes and utensils and manage waste appropriately
* Follow food safety, hygiene, and infection control standards
* Accurately complete required documentation
* Work collaboratively with the catering, care, and clinical teams
* Comply with all organisational policies, procedures, and aged care quality standards
About You
* Previous experience in food services, hospitality, or aged care (desirable but not essential)
* Knowledge of food safety and hygiene practices (or willingness to learn)
* A friendly, respectful, and resident-focused approach
* Strong communication and teamwork skills
* Ability to work efficiently in a fast-paced environment
* Current National Police Certificate and Aged Care Worker Screening (or ability to obtain)
* Availability to work across a rotating roster, including weekends and public holidays
