Are you a resilient leader in Early Childhood Education looking for a meaningful career move? We are seeking a dedicated Child Care Coordinator to manage the daily operations of a community-based childcare service in the Northern Territory.
Working on behalf of our client, a regional government entity, this role offers the chance to provide high-quality education and care while mentoring a local team in a unique, cross-cultural environment.
The Role
As the Child Care Coordinator, you will lead the planning and delivery of Early Childhood Education programs that are culturally appropriate and aligned with national standards. You will act as a mentor, supervisor, and administrator, ensuring the service remains viable and responsive to the needs of the community.
Key Responsibilities
Oversee daily operations to ensure a high-quality, viable service that meets community needs.
Actively lead, train, and support staff to deliver targeted education programs that enhance child development.
Manage childcare places via the Child Care Subsidy (CCS), maintain accurate records in the Management System, and generate required reports.
Develop positive, respectful partnerships with children, families, and stakeholders.
Ensure all practices are consistent with the EYLF, National Regulations, and Quality Standards.
Assist with recruitment, timesheet preparation, and performance development.
* Maintain clean facilities and strictly adhere to Safeguarding Children, WHS, and Privacy policies.
We understand that moving to a remote community is a significant step, and our client offers a comprehensive support package to assist with your transition:
Subsidised Housing: Available at just $75 per week for the successful candidate.
Relocation Assistance: Reimbursement of reasonable relocation expenses (freight, vehicle allowance, economy airfares) up to:
$7,500 for accompanied employees.
Repatriation Entitlements: Full repatriation assistance is available for those completing a 24-month term; pro-rata options apply after the first 12 months of service.
A Diploma of Early Childhood Education and Care (or a Certificate III with a commitment to completing your Diploma).
Proven experience coordinating small teams with the ability to mentor staff
Strong understanding of the National Quality Framework (NQF) and childcare legislation.
Proficiency in Microsoft Office and the ability to learn new Child Care Management software.
Current First Aid, CPR, Asthma, Anaphylaxis, and Food Safety qualifications (or willingness to obtain).
A current Ochre Card (NT Working with Children Clearance) and a valid C Class Driver's License.
Advanced interpersonal skills with the ability to navigate conflict and engage stakeholders effectively.
* Previous experience living or working in remote First Nations communities.
