The Department of Customer Service (DCS) is a service provider, regulator and central agency of government. DCS is undertaking an ambitious digital transformation of government services, underpinned by its Digital Government Strategy.
About the Team
The DCS Customer Payments Platform (CPP) is a whole of government payments platform for the NSW Government to transform customers’ payments experience and reduce costs. It is one of the foundational elements of the Digital Government Strategy, a core and common platform, to be leveraged by all new digital / ICT investments. CPP is supported through a ‘hyper agile’ approach to delivery by a highly driven team to deliver innovative digital solutions for NSW.
About the Role
We are looking for a Senior Fullstack Engineer (Java/Kotlin) to join our team. In this role you will be contributing to the build and deployment of high quality, reliable, reusable and maintainable code and provide technical expertise and advice.
Key accountabilities include:
· End-to-end product development through the build, release, maintenance and enhancement of product
· Collaborate with product managers, designers and other key stakeholders,
· Leads the provision of technical expertise to enhance the quality of product solution design, including participating in discovery process with cross-functional product team
· Involvement in iterative testing processes
About You
To be successful in this role we are looking for an experienced engineer with the following skills and experience:
· Empathy and passion for our customer, the citizens of NSW.
· Comprehensive and demonstrable software development experience; full-stack development experience is desirable
· Coding experience is current/recent with evidence in backend technologies like Kotlin, Java, Spring MVC, Spring boot along with testing frameworks like Mockito, RestAssured and JUnit 5.
· Front End Technologies like Vue.js, React, Angular with test tools like Jest or Jasmine.
· Knowledge of end-to-end testing frameworks like TestCafe and Cypress is desirable.
· Experience in Test Driven Development is essential
· Hands-on experience with setting up CI/CD pipelines.
· Excellent communication and collaborative skills and open to a pair-programming environment
· Demonstrable experience in application architecture and/or software development within an Agile/DevOps environment.
· Experience working directly with clients, leading projects and examples of working as a team player in collaborative, cross functional teams including designers and Product Managers.
· Passion for growing your skills, tackling interesting work and challenging problems for the benefit of a digital consumer with lean, clean code
· BA/BS in Computer Science or related field, or equivalent experience
Salary Grade 09/10, with the base salary for this role starting at 129,464 base plus superannuation
