Lead Civil Engineer - Energy • Brisbane, QLD, AU
What will you do?
Lead civil engineering for Wind, Solar and BESS projects across Queensland. Oversee design, planning and coordination of civil infrastructure such as access tracks, roads, pavements, hardstands, foundations, interfaces, drainage and other assets that underpin renewable generation.
In this leadership role you will influence design direction, mentor engineers, contribute to proposals and work‐winning, and build strong relationships with clients and partners across the energy sector.
Key responsibilities
* Lead civil design packages from concept through to detailed design for renewable energy projects.
* Coordinate closely with offshore delivery teams to ensure alignment, quality and technical excellence.
* Integrate multidisciplinary teams (structural, electrical, geotechnical, transmission, environmental and advisory) to achieve seamless project outcomes.
* Manage interfaces between civil works and key energy infrastructure, including wind turbine generators, solar arrays, BESS facilities and substations.
* Support constructability, staging and contractor engagement through practical, buildable solutions.
Key qualifications
* Demonstrated experience delivering civil design for renewable energy projects – Wind, Solar or BESS.
* Strong technical capability in tracks, access roads, pavements, hardstands and site civil infrastructure, including earthworks and drainage design.
* Experience coordinating civil interfaces with transmission lines, substations and wind farm infrastructure.
* Proven ability to lead and coordinate distributed design teams.
* Experience integrating multidisciplinary inputs for large‐scale infrastructure programs.
* Sound understanding of Australian standards, design guidelines and client requirements in the energy and infrastructure sectors.
* Ability to engage confidently with developers, contractors, OEMs, transmission providers and internal stakeholders.
* Strong commercial awareness, scope management, programme coordination and contribution to bids and proposals.
* Degree qualifications in Civil Engineering; Chartered status or working toward it is highly regarded.
