Ungooroo Aboriginal Corporation is looking for a Youth Support Worker to join its
Specialist Homelessness Service (SHS) team. This is a fulltime role.
The SHS Aboriginal Young People Early Intervention Program supports young people aged
12-25 years who are homeless or at risk of becoming homeless.
This is an Identified position under Section9A of the NSW Anti-Discrimination Act 1977
**NOTE**: Being Aboriginal or Torres Strait Islander is a genuine occupational qualification for this position as described under Section
14(d) of the Anti-Discrimination Act 1977
About the Role
Case management and development of
individual client program plans
Support clients to obtain employment or entry
into further education and training
Documentation and record keeping
Promotion of program and development of
strong stakeholder relationships
Monitoring and evaluation of program
Budget and data reporting
Demonstrated person-centred approach with
genuine empathy and interest
Excellent interpersonal and communication
skills
Undertake all duties with diligence, honesty and
integrity
Demonstrated ability to organise and prioritise
with attention to detail
Demonstrated commitment to ongoing
professional development
Work with all staff respectfully and represent
Ungooroo in a positive manner
Cert IV in Community Services, Youth Work or
similar
Experience with Client Information Management
Systems
Proven experience in case notes writing
Experience working with SHS program clients
Knowledge and understanding of issues
affecting Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander
people
Commitment to Aboriginal community
empowerment and development
Experience working within an Aboriginal
organisation
Experience working in a diverse business
environment.
