Women's Crisis Support Service Inc. (WCSSI) manages the Domestic and Family Violence (DFV) Women's Shelter and DFV Mobile Support program in the Ipswich region. WCSSI is an incorporated, not for profit, non-government organisation focused on supporting women and children experiencing domestic and family violence.
WCSSI operates with the framework of a feminist philosophy, embracing social justice values, is child focused and culturally sensitive. We provide quality services where women and children can feel safe which encourages them to feel empowered to make sound decisions to regain control of their lives.
"This is a women‑only position under section 25 of the Anti‑Discrimination Act 1991 (Qld), as the role involves providing specialist support to women and children experiencing domestic and family violence." All workers must undergo a criminal record check.
Domestic Violence Case Manager (Team Leader)
Primary Purpose of the Role
The Domestic Violence Case Manager (Team Leader) is responsible for guiding the mobile support program and delivering specialist, integrated case management to women and their children experiencing domestic and family violence.
Key Responsibilities
* Conduct timely, trauma‑informed assessments of individuals and families experiencing domestic and family violence to determine eligibility, risk level, and support needs.
* Allocate eligible clients to DFV Case Managers based on risk, complexity, capacity, and service pathways, ensuring a safe, coordinated, and client‑centred response.
* Provide oversight and guidance to Case Managers to support consistent, high‑quality practice and effective case coordination
* Provide outreach, advocacy and case managed support to women experiencing DFV.
* Conduct evidence-based risk assessments within the context of Domestic and Family Violence including completing safety planning.
* Network and collaborate with other agencies to promote an integrated approach to the issues faced by women and children who have been affected by domestic violence.
* Provide tenancy and housing support that promotes long term, safe and sustainable housing options for women and children experiencing DFV.
* Maintain up to date and confidential records for all clients that include ethical and accurate case noting.
The ideal candidates
* Relevant tertiary qualifications (minimum Diploma Level)
* Experience working with women who are experiencing domestic violence.
* Demonstrated crisis intervention, case management, and trauma-informed practice skills.
* Experience networking with multidisciplinary services and agencies and ability to build and foster relationships within the local homelessness and DFV Sector.
* Ability to work both independently and co-operatively within a team environment
* Sound knowledge of local community organisations and demonstrated experience networking and collaborating with other agencies to meet organisational objectives
* Excellent written/oral communication skills and competency with technology systems.
* Valid QLD Working with Children Blue Card.
* Valid QLD Divers License
