Bookkeeper Milsons Point, Sydney Salary: $90,000 - $105,000 Superannuation After probation: 2 days working from home per week The Company We are partnering with a well-established construction and project management company that has experienced steady growth, delivering high-quality residential projects across multiple states in Australia. The business manages projects from concept to completion through an integrated development, construction, and project management model. With a turnover of around $60 million, the company offers a stable and professional environment where staff can grow and contribute to thoughtful, well-executed projects. The finance team is collaborative, supportive, and focused on quality, efficiency, and continuous improvement. The Role Reporting directly to the Finance Manager in Sydney, you will be part of a finance team of two in Sydney, working alongside three offshore team members. You will oversee accounts, payroll, reconciliations, and intercompany transactions while supporting multi-state project operations. This role is ideal for someone independent, proactive, and highly organised, with solid experience in payroll administration and accounts payable, comfortable navigating complex multi-entity structures. Key Responsibilities: End-to-end responsible for Accounts Payable, working with offshore team entering invoices and liaising with suppliers, including fortnightly pay runs in AUD Perform daily bank reconciliations Support fortnightly payroll for a mix of blue-collar, white-collar, and contractor staff, including timesheet review, deductions, superannuation, and expense claims Assist with BAS, IAS, GST, PAYG, and superannuation obligations Reconcile credit cards, general ledger, and balance sheet accounts Review offshore work for accuracy, completeness, and compliance with internal processes Act as the escalation point for issues that offshore staff cannot resolve Maintain consistent communication channels to ensure smooth collaboration and timely task completion Produce reports such as aged payables & P&L summaries Review data prepared by offshore staff before submission to management or external partners Support audits by preparing required financial documentation Provide support to the wider finance team including ad hoc projects Support intercompany reconciliations across all entities, including 4 main entities, joint ventures, and multiple smaller entities Contribute to ad hoc finance projects and process improvement initiatives across multiple states Your Profile Minimum experience in payroll administration, ideally within construction, project management, or multi-entity businesses Proven bookkeeping and accounts payable experience Experience managing or coordinating with offshore accounting teams Strong problem-solving skills and attention to detail, with ability to work independently Proficient in Xero, ERP systems, and Microsoft Excel Excellent communication skills with ability to work cross-functionally and manage multiple priorities Apply Today If you are looking for a dynamic role in a collaborative finance team with exposure to multi-entity, multi-state operations and a mix of payroll and accounts responsibilities, this is an excellent opportunity to grow your career.
