Your new role
* Be responsible for managing the project management lifecycle, as part of the Small Projects Management Framework, including well-written, well-structured documentation
* Be responsible for a wide range of capital projects (
1. Dams, levees - Upgrades or provide new
2. New mine access roads
3. Upgrades to internal and external mine roads
4. Drainage upgrades
5. New or upgrades to existing water infrastructure to help improve water management on site
6. Procurement of new equipment for mine site operations i.e., pumps, pipelines, etc.
7. Small improvement projects throughout the mine site
8. Assisting Project Managers on larger projects throughout the mine site
* Demonstrate strong troubleshooting, analytical and problem-solving skills
* Engage with project stakeholders to ensure alignment to business objectives
* Negotiate contract terms and conditions, to support project schedule and budget
* Ensure ownership of projects, including stakeholder engagement, monthly KPIs and various internal reporting
* Actively participate in the Field Leadership program
What you'll need to succeed
* Experience in the entire project life cycle
* Experience in mining (QLD Coal Mining preferable, but not a requirement)
* Experience in delivering various civil and water management projects (front-end-loading, design/standard clarification, site execution, and commissioning)
* Experience with site execution and planning of projects, including working with contractors / tradespersons
* Bachelor of Civil Engineering Degree
* A great attitude to learning company processes and think outside the box
* A high commitment to safety, quality, attention to detail and procedures
* Ability to influence, engage with & communicate effectively across multiple levels, business units, functional areas, and external stakeholders
* Project Management experience, including project procurement
* Ability to problem solve effectively, work under pressure, and think strategically.
1. For example, supporting various stakeholders with competing priorities, managing those relationships, expectations, and formulate appropriate action plans.
* Demonstrate effective writing skills in email, documentation, and presentation development, taking into consideration the target audience
* Demonstrate effective skills in project management documentation, including action taking, delay registers, variation registers, inspection and test plans, punch list registers, and close out documentation
* Demonstrate effective skills in Microsoft Suite, including Microsoft Excel, Microsoft Word, and Outlook
What you'll get in return
You will be offered a role working in an open-cut metallurgical coal mine in the Bowen Basin located near Moranbah, Central Queensland. You will be working 5:2 roster with FIFO/DIDO arrangements and flexible options for the right candidate. Hays will pay you on a weekly basis, and you will be paid an attractive hourly rate & super. Our position is commencing ASAP and is long term for the right candidate.
