Overview
Based within the Aboriginal Heritage Unit, this position is the first point of contact for the Head of Aboriginal Heritage and works across a number of key areas of MAGNT operations. The position is responsible for providing a wide range of administrative support to the HOAH, the position will also produce the Indigenous Cultural Advisory Authority (ICAA) papers and Repatriation Working Group papers. The Aboriginal Heritage Administration Officer also provides secretariat support to the Aboriginal Heritage Unit internal working groups and committees across other departments.

Selection Criteria
* Selection Criteria 1: Demonstrated experience working with NT Aboriginal communities on Country or other settings. *
* Selection Criteria 2: Knowledge of or willingness to learn about and support Indigenous protocols and practices within museum setting regarding the care of cultural heritage collections and the role in advancing reconciliation, connecting with communities of origin and strengthening culture. *
* Selection Criteria 3: Ability to communicate sensitively, respectfully and in culturally appropriate manner in all situations. *
* Selection Criteria 4: Experience in administration and secretarial support including the proven ability to exercise sound judgment and deal appropriately and professionally with confidential and sensitive matters. *
* Selection Criteria 5: High level of self-management and organisational skills with a proven ability to exercise initiative, set priorities and ensure attention to detail and accuracy in an environment requiring performance of multiple tasks and adherence to deadlines. *
