About the Opportunity
YYNAC is seeking a Maintenance Officer to play a pivotal role in the security and upkeep of the Dharnya Centre Precinct. Tasked with general repairs and customer service, the successful candidate will ensure the precinct remains a safe, functional, and inviting space for all.
Reporting to the Dharnya Centre Business Manager, some of your key accountabilities will include:
* Security: Ensuring the safety and security of the Dharnya Centre precinct through regular site inspections and access control.
* Maintenance: Coordinating and undertaking general preventative maintenance, reactive simple repairs and proactive monitoring of all buildings, grounds, and infrastructure to ensure they remain fit-for-purpose.
* Contractors: Overseeing contractor engagement, including obtaining quotes, overseeing site inductions, and ensuring work is completed to a high standard.
* Compliance: Maintaining strict adherence to safety regulations and compliance standards, including regular hazard identification and risk assessments.
* Customer Service: Providing high-quality customer service to all staff and visitors, acting as a welcoming point of contact for the precinct.
* Operations: Overseeing and coordinating day-to-day site operations, including receiving deliveries and the physical setup and pack-down for events and meetings.
About you:
* Demonstrated experience in general building and property maintenance, including basic repairs across HVAC, plumbing, electrical, and carpentry.
* Proven experience in grounds maintenance, including landscaping and gardening.
* Experience in conducting routine inspections, preventative maintenance, and the cleaning and upkeep of equipment and facilities.
* High-level proficiency in using manual and power tools, as well as testing equipment.
* Previous experience with electronic audio-visual systems (advantageous).
* Ability to troubleshoot and resolve issues efficiently with a strong sense of urgency.
* Proven ability to work independently with minimal supervision, while also contributing effectively as a proactive team member.
* Excellent interpersonal skills with the ability to engage professionally with visitors, contractors, and staff.
* A strong commitment to OHS, with the ability to proactively identify and report health and safety issues and comply with evolving policies.
Qualifications & Licences
* Driver's Licence: Valid Full Victorian Driver's Licence.
* White Card: Construction Induction Card.
* WWC: Current Working with Children Check (or willingness to obtain).
Highly Desirable
* Trade Qualifications: Formal qualifications in Carpentry, Plumbing, or Electrical
* MR Licence: A Medium Rigid (MR) Driver's Licence
