Wapalku/Support Worker Opportunities – Julyardi Aboriginal Corporation
Julyardi Aboriginal Corporation is growing and has new exciting opportunities for enthusiastic and self-motivated employees to provide support and advocacy to our clients. Julyardi Aboriginal Corporation is a not-for-profit, client-focused organisation that delivers services to the Hedland Aboriginal Community. You will be part of a growing, innovative, local Aboriginal Corporation that operates with the guidance of a group of dedicated Elders, Hedland Aboriginal Strong Leaders.
We are currently looking for new team members to fill a number of vacant positions in our existing and new programs.

Position Duties:
* Work with clients to identify strengths and needs to create goals.
* Regular contact and home visits with local Aboriginal families
* Monitoring and reporting on the progress of clients
* Identify gaps in services and report what services participants are unable to engage with. Referring clients to agencies that can provide additional help
* Assessing community need and resources for health, housing, employment, training and other facilities and services
* Liaising with community groups, agencies, government bodies and private businesses about community issues and promoting awareness of community resources and services
* Assisting young people to solve social, emotional and financial problems
* Provide reports and updates monthly, ensure data is captured
* Work collaboratively with Hedland Aboriginal Strong Leaders (HASL) and Hedland Aboriginal Emerging Leaders (HEAL)
* Arrange and attend meetings with services and clients when required
* Other duties as appropriate to role and skill levels
Desirable Experience and Skills:
* Strong understanding and proven ability to engage with and work within the local Aboriginal community
* Demonstrated high-level interpersonal, facilitation, and consultation skills
* Experience in person- or family-centered approaches to service provision
* Literacy skills including developing and writing person-centred plans
* Experience working with participants with complex needs (e.g., drug and alcohol, judicial system, mental health)
* Data entry, time management, ability to prioritise work and meet deadlines
* Understanding of professional boundaries including privacy, confidentiality, and respect in the workplace
Qualification and Experience:
* Experience working in a team environment
* Proficient in computer literacy
* Right to work in Australia
* Unrestricted & current C class driver's license
* National (or Federal) Police Certificate no more than 6 months old
* Working with Children Check (WA)
