Journey to Social Inclusion is a case management service and a new Salvation army initiative for long-term homelessness in Melbourne, offering intensive support to help individuals secure permanent housing and improve their quality of life. The service model includes intensive case management, rapid housing access, trauma-informed practices, skills for inclusion, and fostering independence.
A consortium of organizations, including Sacred Heart Mission, The Salvation Army, Uniting Vic/Tas, and Vincent Care Victoria, delivers the program, with support from the Victorian Government's Early Intervention Investment Fund.
The position in the Practice Leadership and Development Team provides trauma-informed support, clinical supervision, training, and group reflective practice to service teams, aiming to integrate theory and practice while developing resources and supporting strategic priorities.
About The Role
We are seeking a dedicated Practice Lead in a permanent Part-time capacity, 19 hours per week. This position is based out of Geelong.
You will successfully
* Weave trauma-informed care into every layer of staff support and supervision, empowering growth and resilience at every step.
* Offer unwavering guidance and reflective practice for J2SI roles, providing personalized training and insight to navigate complex challenges with confidence.
* Shape and inspire strategic planning and practice development, driving positive, transformative change that aligns with TSA's compassionate vision.
* Foster deep, meaningful connections with staff, local services, and partners, creating a collaborative, supportive network of care.
* Champion safety, innovation, and continuous improvement, nurturing a culture of learning, growth, and unwavering commitment to excellence.
You will Have
* A recognised Social Work/Psychology degree or equivalent
* A deep, compassionate understanding of development, attachment, and trauma theories, and their powerful impact on the experience of homelessness
* Knowledge of at least two evidence-based therapeutic approaches to supporting recovery from trauma as relates to long-term homelessness.
* A current and valid Working with Children's Check
* A valid Victorian Driver's license.
