We are seeking a General Manager who is passionate about improving health outcomes for some of the state's most vulnerable people, while guiding a high‐performing organisation through growth, transformation, and operational excellence.

This is not a typical health leadership job. As General Manager, you will influence the future of healthcare delivery across Victoria's correctional system—ensuring services are safe, effective, culturally responsive, and grounded in dignity and respect.
You will shape strategic direction, lead a multidisciplinary Senior Leadership Team, and be the primary partner to Justice Health, Corrections Victoria, and key independent oversight bodies. Your leadership will directly impact the wellbeing of thousands of people every year.
As our General Manager, you'll be accountable for:
Strategic & Operational Leadership
* Ensuring the delivery of high‐quality, safe, patient‐centred care across GEO Healthcare and GEO Healthcare Plus.
* Leading organisational culture, modelling GEO values, and building a high‐performing Senior Leadership Team.
* Overseeing annual business planning, financial performance, and full compliance with service agreements.
Stakeholder & Governance Excellence
* Acting as GEO Healthcare's peak point of contact for Justice Health and Corrections Victoria.
* Building strong relationships with independent agencies including the Ombudsman, MHCC, Coroners Court, and peak Aboriginal organisations.
* Reporting performance outcomes to the GEO Healthcare Board and participating in clinical governance committees.
People, Culture & Safety
* Ensuring all sites are appropriately resourced and operate within budget.
* Leading workforce capability, training, and professional development.
* Creating a culturally safe environment for Aboriginal patients and employees.
* Overseeing safety, quality, risk, compliance, and environmental management systems.
What you bring
We're looking for an outstanding leader with:
* Registration with AHPRA
* Tertiary qualifications in health or health service management
* Experience leading complex health services and navigating both clinical and corporate governance
* A proven ability to build strong relationships, influence senior stakeholders, and represent an organisation at the highest levels
* Expertise in commissioning, growing, or transforming health services
* Demonstrated experience working with Boards
* Exceptional interpersonal, negotiation, and communication skills
You also have:
* Eligibility to work in a correctional environment
* Ability to maintain a security clearance and pass a criminal history check
