A thoughtful, values-driven family in Nundah is looking for an emotionally intelligent, calm and engaging nanny to support their son (5yrs old) during after-school hours and Saturday mornings.
This role is ideal for a nanny who understands neurodiversity, enjoys active play, and values connection, emotional regulation and gentle guidance.
Days & Hours
Tuesday:
3:00 pm – 7:00 pm
Thursday:
3:00 pm – 7:00 pm
The Ideal Nanny
The family is seeking someone who:
Has strong emotional intelligence and experience supporting children with ADHD
Uses a calm, non-authoritarian approach to caregiving
Is confident modelling behaviour rather than over directing
Can balance calm, focused evenings with high energy, imaginative and physical play
Enjoys building a genuine, trusting relationship with a child
Is warm, grounded, patient and emotionally attuned
Responsibilities
Collecting the child from school and driving him home
Supporting homework when needed
Providing and preparing simple, healthy snacks
Engaging the child in a mix of activities, including:
Imaginative games (floor-is-lava, climbing, creative play)
Calm activities in the evening (drawing, LEGO, toys)
Supporting evening routines including bath time when required
Encouraging emotional awareness by helping the child recognise, name and process feelings
Household Support
Light household tasks completed
with the child
such as:
Tidying toys
These tasks are used as opportunities to model initiative and shared responsibility.
Requirements
Valid Blue Card
3+ years working experience working with children and experience with supporting neurodiverse children
Valid First Aid and CPR
Full drivers licence and clean driving record – Use of a family car is available, own car is also acceptable
Able to swim – the family has a pool so swimming with the child in encouraged
