The Role
The Sustainment Manager is expected to be a self-starter, capable of addressing key performance and budgetary issues within their authority to identify and facilitate appropriate solutions. The successful applicant will be adept at distilling complex issues for senior management decision making and articulating these issues through clear written and verbal communication.

The Sustainment Manager will deliver the required level of financial expertise and continuity to ensure the effective management of organisational sustainment agreements. This position leads the development and maintenance of sustainment artefacts, including Product Schedules for the effective sustainment of products delivered through the Maritime Information Warfare Program.

As the Maritime Information Warfare Program lead on sustainment arrangements, the incumbent will be required to undertake a considerable level of stakeholder engagement, engaging on routine and complex issues. These activities are critical to the success of the role and involve engaging with representatives across Navy and other Defence Groups and Services.

They will be required to identify, anticipate and respond to stakeholders’ needs and expectations to achieve work unit and Defence outcomes. They will be accountable to contribute towards ongoing self-improvement and professional development. Occasional travel may be required.

About our Team
Navy Intelligence and Information Warfare Branch consists of four Directorates. Battlespace Awareness and Intelligence, Assured Command and Control, Integrated Fires and Effects and Enabling Services. The Sustainment Manager is situated in the Enabling Services Directorate; however, works closely with personnel from the three other Directorates.

The Sustainment Manager, as lead for coordinating sustainment requirements is pivotal to the success of this function within the Navy Intelligence and Information Warfare Branch. You will work with the Director Enabling Services and other Branch representatives on matters within scope of this branch.

Navy's Maritime Command and Control Communications, Computers, Cyber, Intelligence, Surveillance and Electronic Warfare Program (the Program) is responsible for delivering operationally capable and contemporary communication, information, electronic warfare, tactical data link, cyber and intelligence systems. The Sustainment Manager is responsible for managing the relationships, agreements and funding that enables the in service systems to be maintained and managed to achieve Navy’s operational outcomes.

This is achieved through highly effective relationships with delivery organisations, customers and other capability support organisations, a deep understanding of the agreements and mechanisms that define the relationships and performance arrangements and strong knowledge of Defence finance and procurement arrangements.

Our Ideal Candidate
Navy Intelligence and Information Warfare Branch is seeking an outcomes focused professional with product sustainment knowledge and experience to fill the Sustainment Manager position. The individual will work in an integrated team of ADF, APS and contracted staff to support the achievement of program objectives. Strong interpersonal and relationship building skills are key to the role.

It is essential that the candidate has demonstrated utmost integrity, professionalism, self-motivation, a positive attitude towards challenges, and persistence in achieving managed outcomes. The candidate will be able to work under pressure with great resilience, focused to goals and attention to details.

The successful candidate will be expected to perform the following major duties:

* Provide advice and support to senior management on sustainment arrangements relating to the Maritime Information Warfare domain.
* Build and sustain collaborative working partnerships and relationships with multiple stakeholders.
* Deliver endorsed capabilities on time, to budget and within the scope while managing and providing advice on risks, issues and opportunities to meet desired outcomes.
* Use their initiative to identify gaps and opportunities for improvement in delivery sustainment services for the Maritime Information Warfare Program Affirmative Measures.
