Pacific Labour Operations Division Overview
The role of Pacific Labour Operations Division involves strategic planning and leadership to manage the PALM scheme. This scheme has two key objectives: contribute to the economic development of nine Pacific Island countries and assist Australian employers to meet labour needs in rural and regional Australia.
To achieve these objectives, the team must be able to work effectively across various cultural environments. This requires strong communication and interpersonal skills, as well as the ability to lead and/or manage teams, manage competing priorities, perform research and analysis, and establish procedures.
In addition to these skills, certain roles require a range of qualifications and experience in social work, human services, psychology, community development or similar fields for worker support and quantitative fields such as statistics, economics, maths, data science, and data analytics for Data Management.
At DEWR, we value diversity and inclusion, and seek to recruit staff with a wide range of backgrounds, skill levels, disciplines and working styles. If this role resonates with you and you are excited about making an impact, but your past experience doesn't align perfectly, we encourage you to apply anyway.
