Waste Water Services (WWS) is part of Vysarn Limited (ASX: VYS), Australia’s leading vertically integrated water services provider supporting the mining, resources and infrastructure sectors.
Through its group businesses, Vysarn delivers a complete water lifecycle capability including hydrogeological drilling, groundwater management, water infrastructure, treatment systems and reinjection solutions for major resource companies and utilities across Australia.
Waste Water Services specialises in the design, construction, installation and commissioning of water and wastewater treatment infrastructure, including sewage treatment plants, potable water treatment systems, pump stations and process water infrastructure used in mining operations.
Our projects support major clients including BHP, Rio Tinto and Fortescue, as well as Water Corporation, local governments and utilities across Western Australia and the East Coast.
Due to continued growth and an expanding pipeline of projects, we are seeking an Electrical Engineer to join our engineering team in Perth.
The Role
The Electrical Engineer will support the design and delivery of electrical and control systems for water and wastewater treatment plants and associated process infrastructure.
WWS projects typically involve industrial process systems rather than building services, including sewage treatment plants, potable water systems, filtration and reverse osmosis plants, pump stations, and process water infrastructure used in mine processing.
The role will involve both engineering design and practical plant troubleshooting, supporting commissioning and ongoing operational performance of treatment facilities across remote and regional Australia.
Key Responsibilities
• Electrical design for water and wastewater treatment plants and pump stations
• Preparation of electrical schematics, single line diagrams, cable schedules and panel layouts
• Specification and integration of pumps, instrumentation, aeration systems, screens, sludge presses and chemical dosing systems
• Development of I/O lists and support for PLC and SCADA integration
• Integration of field instrumentation including flow, level, pressure and analytical sensors
• Troubleshooting electrical and instrumentation issues onsite and via remote monitoring systems
• Supporting commissioning and functional testing of treatment plants
• Coordination with mechanical, civil and process engineering teams
• Ensuring electrical works align with applicable Australian standards and client specifications
Experience & Skills
• Degree in Electrical Engineering
• Experience working on industrial, infrastructure or process plant projects
• Familiarity with AS/NZS 3000 (Wiring Rules) and associated electrical standards
• Experience with motors, pumps, VSDs and industrial instrumentation
• Ability to read and develop electrical drawings and control panel schematics
• Experience supporting commissioning or troubleshooting of industrial plant
Experience with the following is highly regarded:
• Water and wastewater treatment plants
• Pump stations, borefields and water treatment & transfer infrastructure
• Reverse osmosis and filtration systems
• Mining infrastructure projects
• Electrical works to BHP, Rio Tinto or FMG engineering standards
• Utilities projects involving Water Corporation, local government and regional water authorities
What We Offer
• Opportunity to work on critical water infrastructure supporting Australia’s mining and utilities sectors
• Exposure to projects across Western Australia and national utilities markets
• A diverse role spanning engineering design, site support and commissioning
• A collaborative multidisciplinary engineering environment
• Career development within the Vysarn Group
