Job Overview
The Senior Category Advisor plays a pivotal role in supporting the Category Lead - IT in delivering strategic procurement advice and execution across WorkSafe's Corporate Spend portfolio, focusing predominantly on IT initiatives.
Key Responsibilities:
* Managing market engagement activities and coordinating internal resources to support these programs, ensuring the highest standards of ethics and probity are maintained.
* Providing sound and trustworthy advice to key internal clients with respect to all procurement and contractual matters in a fact-based, accurate, and timely manner.
* Assisting in the development of long-term strategies for relevant categories through the development of detailed Procurement Strategy Plans.
* Managing and maintaining all supplier and contract-related risks, policy, and governance requirements.
* Providing business stakeholders with a point of escalation for any systemic contractual or commercial issues, including supporting commercial and contractual negotiations and resolving supplier disputes, and maintaining Contract and Vendor Management Plans for supply partners where relevant.
* Providing expert advice on all key supplier contractual matters across the IT portfolio and supporting the execution of extensions, exemptions, variations, and terminations of legal instruments that meet stakeholders' business needs.
About You
You have a strong background in Procurement and Sourcing, preferably in a tier 1 consulting, corporate, or government organization. Your experience in the IT environment, including Hardware, Network, and Telecommunications Services, Professional IT services, Software, and Systems Architecture, Design, and Data Services is essential.
* Demonstrated experience managing strategic projects in a complex and changing organization.
* A proven history of successfully closing out and executing major projects in a timely manner.
* Exemplary stakeholder and relationship management at all levels.
* Ability to engage with senior leaders and executives and provide robust, transparent, and sound advice.
