Director & Assistant Director / Educational Leader
Oak Park Early Learning is seeking passionate and experienced professionals to lead and inspire a new team at our upcoming centre
We offer a unique opportunity for a Full-Time Director & Full-Time Assistant Director & Educational Leader to assist with opening and managing a purpose-built, privately owned long day care centre in Oak Park, opening September 2025. Visit our website at www.oakparkearlylearning.com.au.
The centre will be licensed for 79 children daily, located at 718 Pascoe Vale Road, Oak Park, Melbourne. It will serve children aged 6 months to 6 years, following play and milestone-based learning for younger children and Montessori-inspired programs for 3-4-year-olds. The facility features five bright classrooms, each with access to gardens, and a commercial kitchen.
Your role as Centre Director and Educational Leader will focus on delivering quality educational and care programs, fostering growth with children, families, and staff, and creating a positive community and work culture.
Candidates must:
* Hold a Diploma in Early Childhood Education or higher
* Have at least 3 years' management experience in a long day care setting
* Experience in opening new centres (preferred but not essential)
* Experience with Montessori programs (preferred but not essential)
* Foster a positive workplace culture
* Possess strong interpersonal skills to support families and educators
* Exhibit leadership qualities, set realistic expectations, and support staff development
* Be experienced in fee processing, including collection, payment plans, and scheduling
* Understand relevant laws and regulations, and implement policies accordingly
* Be familiar with systems like KIMS, ARRIVALS, NQAITS, PRODA, KIS, and related portals
* Have extensive knowledge of EYLF & NQF, and experience with compliance and assessment processes
* Navigate funding applications and deadlines efficiently
* Have experience in rostering, staff management, recruitment, and retention strategies

* Ability to build strong relationships with families, children, staff, and stakeholders
* Model and reinforce best practices
* Prioritize tasks, solve problems, and manage time effectively
* Adaptability to a fast-paced environment
* Proficiency with technology and apps like Xplor, 1Place, MyWaitlist
* Work closely with owners and management to ensure high-quality programs
