We are seeking a passionate and experienced Child Care Cook/Chef to join our team at Nature's Academy Early Learning Centre in Orange, NSW. As a full-time role, you will be responsible for preparing and cooking nutritious meals for the children in our care. This is an exciting opportunity to contribute to the health and wellbeing of young children in a nurturing and supportive environment.
What you'll be doing
* Prepare and cook a variety of delicious, healthy and age-appropriate meals and snacks for children
* Ensure all meals and snacks meet nutritional requirements and dietary needs
* Maintain a clean and organised kitchen, adhering to all food safety and hygiene standards
* Work closely with the early childhood educators to understand the children's preferences and dietary requirements
* Participate in menu planning and recipe development to continuously improve the quality of the food provided
* Shopping and stock management to ensure the kitchen is well‑equipped
What we're looking for
* Relevant qualification in commercial cookery or food preparation
* Demonstrated experience working as a cook/chef in a child care or similar early learning environment is preferred
* Strong knowledge of nutrition, food safety and hygiene standards
* Excellent time management and organisational skills
* Ability to work collaboratively with the early childhood education team
* Passion for providing high‑quality, nutritious meals for young children
* Valid Working with Children Check required before commencement
