Are you a dedicated Dietitian passionate about improving health outcomes in a culturally responsive and supportive environment?

What you'll be doing

Join our New Directions team and contribute to delivering holistic health services for Aboriginal families with children aged 0–8 years.

As a valued member of our multidisciplinary team — alongside Aboriginal Health Workers/Practitioners, Social Workers, and fellow Dietitians — you'll help strengthen connections between community and health services. The New Directions Program is committed to Closing the Gap by providing flexible, family-centred care that honours culture, community, and individual needs.

This role offers a unique opportunity to be part of a program that embraces innovation, collaboration, and genuine partnership with community, where your skills and compassion can create lasting positive change.

Where you'll be working

Based in Tamworth, you'll experience the best of both worlds — a vibrant regional city surrounded by stunning natural landscapes. With its welcoming community, lively local events, and relaxed lifestyle, Tamworth offers the ideal balance of rural charm and modern convenience.

You'll be joining a close-knit, positive team that truly values connection and collaboration. We take pride in celebrating milestones, participating in community events, and supporting one another through regular supervision, mentoring, and informal catch-ups.

From the moment you join, you'll feel supported and equipped to thrive in your role. We provide a comprehensive orientation, ongoing individual and cultural supervision, and access to education, training, and professional development opportunities. You'll also benefit from strong leadership and service manager support, along with the chance to engage with community on Country and participate in local and national events.

About you

We'd love to hear from you if you are passionate about making a meaningful difference in the health and wellbeing of children and families. You enjoy working collaboratively within a multidisciplinary team, while also having the confidence and initiative to manage your own caseload independently.

You bring excellent communication and interpersonal skills, allowing you to connect effectively with families, colleagues, and partner services, and you approach each interaction with empathy and professionalism. Highly organised and adaptable, you are comfortable managing competing priorities while maintaining a high standard of care.

Above all, you value equity, dignity, and inclusion, and these principles guide everything you do. You are committed to fostering respectful, culturally responsive relationships and creating a supportive environment where every family feels heard, valued, and empowered.
