About Our Railway Museum: The Don River Railway museum is a premier tourist attraction in Tasmania, dedicated to recreating living railway history. Our museum houses a unique collection of artefacts that tell the rich story of rail in Tasmania.
The Opportunity
We are seeking enthusiastic and skilled individuals to enhance our visitor experience as part of our team of heritage storytellers. This front-facing role requires passion for history, excellent communication skills, and the ability to conduct engaging guided tours, answer visitor questions, and share compelling narratives about our railway heritage.
Key Responsibilities & Duties
* Deliver captivating guided tours of the DRR museum and selected outdoor exhibits for various visitor groups.
* Share accurate and interesting information about the history of Tasmanian railways and DRR's collection.
* Provide clear and courteous responses to visitor queries, ensuring a positive and informative experience.
* Assist with general museum visitor flow and ensure displays are well-presented.
* Collaborate with the Museum Curator and other Visitor Services team members.
* Adhere strictly to all DRR policies, including customer service and safety guidelines.
